Our Mission

The mission of the Eloisa Díaz Educational Foundation is to provide educational support to the Southwest Valley of Phoenix with preference to students at the Tolleson Union High School District.

We are pleased to have been able to provide scholarship funds for over 500 students since our humble beginnings in 2000. We are excited about the future of the foundation and in continuing to support students in the Southwest Valley.

Our Roots

Described as a “beacon for education” for Tolleson, Arizona, the Eloisa Diaz Educational Foundation continues to enrich the lives of students in that community.

In September 2000, during the last months of her life, Eloisa “Locha” Diaz provided resources so that her brother Lionel Diaz could create an educational foundation that provides scholarships and assistance for students, primarily in the Tolleson Union High School District. As co-founder, president and creator of the vision for the Foundation, Lionel continues to honor his and his sister’s dream of offering educational opportunities to students in their hometown. The scholarships are intended to fund tuition and books at one of the ten Maricopa Community Colleges or apply towards expenses at an Arizona university.
